Announcement 2009

The Netherlands Florida Scholarship Foundation has great pleasure to announce that this year 2 students will participate in the scholarship program funded by NFSF. The student exchange program is a result of close cooperation between FIU Miami en RHO Business school of Rotterdam, and supported by the Dutch Consul General in Miami, Mrs. Moenir Alam and aims at promoting mutual understanding of the American and Dutch cultures.

Last year also a number of students of the RHO business school came to study at FIU. This year, for the first time, a Miami FIU student, Carlos Gomez, will complete a semester at the RHO school at Rotterdam. In addition, Janika Maria from Curacao obtained a grant to fulfill a 3 months internship at Martinair HQ in Miami. She is awaiting her H-3 visa at this moment, which takes a little longer than expected. Thanks also to Xavier Prens, Consul of the Antillen. Martinair has sponsored the flight ticket for Carlos.

The Netherlands Florida Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization. All its board members are volunteers. We rely on donations and sponsors to be able to provide this possibility for students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to study abroad. In order to continue this work we need your donations, no donation is ever too small to contribute to our cause.
