The Netherlands-Florida Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization, with the objective of promoting mutual understanding of the American and Dutch (including Dutch Caribbean) cultures with a student exchange program between universities and companies in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the USA. The funds for the scholarships derive from the proceeds of the Oranje Open Golf Tournament (www.oranjeopen.com). NFLSF was established at the initiative of the Netherlands Association of South Florida (www.dutchclub.com) and the Netherlands American Chamber of Commerce of Florida.
Scholarships are available for 2009. The scholarship consists of roundtrip transportation and a stipend of $3,000 - $5,000; depending on other sources of income of the student. Housing is at the expense of the recipient and to be arranged in consultation with the host university or company. Application deadline is December 31, 2008. The student is expected to spend one semester (4 months) at the host university or company. Prior to application students are encouraged to contact the administrator of the scholarship; Mrs Gina Ortela.

Students 2009. It took a little while for we could bring you some news. We have our new announcement about the students, who received a scholarship from the Netherlands Florida Scholarship. Thanks to Martinair, we got a ticket for the student from Florida International University. We are on our way. Thank you for all the support to the Foundation.
